[NTT DATA INTELLILINK Corporation]Cyber Regulation in the IoT Era: Institutional Analysis of the EU Cyber Resilience Act and its impact on us
DAY 2
14:20-
14:50
The advancement of IoT has led to the interconnection of diverse people, objects, and organizations that support social and economic activities. However, IoT products are demanding to manage appropriately and can be targets of cyberattacks from around the world. As a result, countries are increasingly implementing measures to strengthen their cybersecurity frameworks. In 2024, the European Union enacted the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). It establishes a regulatory framework to enhance cybersecurity for products sold in the EU, that exchange information with networks or other devices. A part of provisions are scheduled to take effect in 2026, thus stakeholders are urged to take prompt action. This lecture outlines the requirements for products, manufacturers, OSS stewards, and other entities subject to CRA, as well as the harmonized standards currently under development.
