Contests/Workshops

Incident Response Contest - Let's Think It Through Together

When a security incident occurs, you have to make fast decisions in the middle of incomplete information and competing demands.
Through an immersive scenario built around incident response, this contest has you debate and decide what to prioritize — situational awareness, business continuity, stakeholder communication, root-cause investigation — all under limited information. You’ll also organize what you’re given into a report addressed to an external authority. Because the organizers review and give feedback on every report submitted under that time and information pressure, the contest turns into hands-on, practical learning.
After the exercise, we set aside time for participants and observers to discuss the reports together, comparing the range of perspectives and judgment calls that came up — deepening everyone’s learning and helping energize the security community.
No specialist knowledge is required. Bring whatever questions or opinions occur to you in the moment; it’s a chance to learn alongside others. Beginners are very welcome to join in!
