The integration of GenAI into the cyber threat landscape is a gradual evolution, not an immediate revolution. Moving past speculative “super-malware,” current intelligence shows adversaries maturing in lockstep with the security industry.
This session explores how state-sponsored APTs and financial actors use AI to professionalize operations. While initially scaling tactics like social engineering, 2026 intelligence reveals a critical shift: AI is now a force multiplier for zero-day discovery and novel exploit generation. Furthermore, the AI ecosystem itself—including orchestration layers and APIs—has become a highly targeted attack surface for initial access.
By analyzing “in the wild” 2025-2026 use cases, including agentic automation and just-in-time code modification, we provide practical context to track this threat. Our goal is to equip defenders with strategic foresight to outpace adversaries in real-time.

A specialist in Cyber-Physical threats and Information Operations (IO), Daniel has dedicated his career to scaling the depth and velocity of global intelligence investigations. He currently spearheads Google’s initiatives at the intersection of AI and threat intelligence, analyzing how emerging AI ecosystems redefine the threat landscape and the future of cyber defense. A former Fulbright Scholar and University of Washington Informatics alumnus, Daniel’s work in security architecture innovation has been recognized by the Kaspersky Academy Talent Lab.
